Frequently asked questions

Do you do evening or weekend sessions?

Yes, I am available some weekday evenings and most weekends, and with my lighting setup we can shoot day or night.

How long is a headshot session?

My sessions are tailored in length for your needs. For corporates, I recommend a 30 to 45 minute session to find the style you'd like for your shots, have time for two looks, and get you relaxed on camera. I can however tailor this to quick in-and-out shots if you know what you're after already, or would like to bring a whole team of people through one after another.

For actors, a full hour gives us time to do a number of looks without rushing, changing outfits and backdrops several times, and getting the variety of shots required for a great acting profile.

Where is Amalia Studio located?

My lovely space is located in the Schoolhouse Studios building at Country Lane retail village in the heart of Frankton. This super convenient location has ample parking, cafes, and restrooms on site.

What should I wear to my headshot session?

Bring a few outfits and we'll find what works best. Block colours and flattering cuts work best on camera, and actors need to bring a variety of looks. Avoid tops with logos or busy patterns. A handy clothes guide is sent when you book. We can also collaborate with a local stylist and colour analyst.

Do you offer both actor headshots and corporate headshots?

Yes, I specialise in acting and modelling headshots as well as corporate portraits for professionals and business owners.

Can I have hair and makeup done before my session?

Yes, I can organise a lovely trusted local hair and makeup artist to join us before your session and take away all the stress of doing your own hair and makeup! This add-on starts from 45 mins and $80 for a basic blowout and natural look.

Do you shoot with flash or natural light?

Both, depending on the style, and how much natural light we have. I love using flash in a way that replicates natural light, but can also do a clean punchy flash photography style.
